Demonstrations in Permanent Affordability

Affordable Solutions

It’s our people and culture that have made New Orleans a destination city and the most unique American city. But our people, you, are being priced out: unable to afford the cost of housing, rising rents and business spaces.

Crescent City Community Land Trust provides permanently affordable solutions in homeownership, rentals, and commercial spaces because we believe people have a right to stay in their neighborhood, purchase a home and operate a business.

 Homeownership

CCCLT can help you purchase a home with a monthly payment that’s often lower than renting. Your payment will always be affordable and stable.

Owning a community land trust home can cost less than renting, and it means you can count on a stable payment that is priced affordably for you!

CCCLT recently completed the sale  of 10 community land trust homes in New Orleans Lower 9th Ward. The houses are 2-3 bedroom, 2 baths with a number of amenities, and payments were set at no more than 25 percent of the owner's monthly income. CCCLT’s funding partner, Ford Foundation, significantly subsidized these homes so that they cost between $33,000 and $90,000 depending on owner's monthly income. CCCLT partner Capital One gave grant support for the project and also provided a financial coach to assist potential homeowners.

 Rentals

The CCCLT provides rental housing that is permanently affordable, located in good neighborhoods that are close to work and school.
